Charged with modernizing this international law firm’s New York City office space, Spectorgroup in association with design architect, HYL Architecture, achieved a contemporary, revitalized work environment. Their current space was sprawled throughout six disconnected floors with disjointed aesthetics. The complete gut and re-design unified the practice areas onto neighboring floors with a cohesive, mid-century inspired design language that features more natural light, brighter modern finishes, and ergonomic furniture.
The overall design continued the firm’s company-wide commitment to single-sized offices while promoting a dynamic environment and reducing operating expenses.
As a result, the corners and main circulation hubs of the floors were designed as dedicated conference and teaming spaces, increasing access to natural daylight and premium views.
An interconnecting feature stair encourages connectivity and collaboration, enhancing opportunities for spontaneous interaction and allowing easy access and fluidity throughout the space.
An expansive double-height reception area welcomes visitors leading into a state-of-the-art conference center. The multi-functional conference center easily transforms into a room for training and events that features sweeping views of Midtown Manhattan, fully integrated telepresence equipment, and a hospitality lounge suite for visiting guests
