There are milestones throughout all our projects that we get excited about—from winning new work and collaborating with design teams to breaking ground and topping-off. But nothing is more joyous and rewarding than a celebration for a finished project.
A ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony was held to open the new state-of-the-art David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence in Garden City, NY. The Center serves as a regional training center for all Nassau County Police personnel, comprising nineteen village and city departments located throughout the county, as well as a wide array of state and federal law enforcement agencies from across the country.
From the start, we designed the Center to be a beacon (day and night) of law enforcement. Highly visible from a distance, the facility yields a strong and powerful message. The façade features a combination of white panels and windows that’s sophisticated and evocative of an academic institution. Modern and high-tech interiors support officer training yet are versatile to the needs of the County and community.
At the ceremony, Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, stated, “On any given day there can be hundreds of recruits and officers receiving important training in cultural diversity, ethical awareness, deescalation and instruction on penal law and criminal procedure law.”
