535 Madison Avenue Amenity Suite

New York, NY

A refined hospitality-driven amenity environment that blurs the boundary between workplace and destination.

535 Madison Avenue has long held its place among Midtown'smost distinguished commercial addresses — a trophyclass tower whose character reflects the established energy of one of New York City's great corridors. As tenant expectations continue to evolve, Park Tower Group and Spectorgroup saw an opportunity not to elevate the building's standing, but to deepen it: reimagining the third floor as an amenity suite worthy of the address it serves.

Drawing on six years of design collaboration, the team engineered a space that shifts effortlessly from a productive daytime sanctuary to an evening event venue — without compromising the refined atmosphere that defines it throughout.

A workplace that feels like a destination.

Rather than a conventional amenity floor, the design team envisioned the space as a curated club environment—one that blurs the boundaries between work, hospitality, and social engagement. Drawing inspiration from the layered intimacy of London hotels and private libraries, the suite introduces a warm, tactile palette of rich woods, terrazzo, and refined metal detailing.

These materials create a sense of depth and permanence, elevating the atmosphere while ensuring the space ages gracefully over time. Every surface, junction, and finish was carefully considered to reinforce the feeling of a refined and timeless interior.

A choreographed arrival experience.

The transition into the suite begins at the elevator lobby, where a sculpted ceiling and carefully choreographed lighting establish a sense of arrival. This threshold slows the visitor’s pace and signals a shift in experience—from traditional office building circulation to a more intimate and hospitality-driven environment.

From the moment occupants enter, the design intentionally frames the amenity floor as something more than a shared tenant space. Instead, it operates as a curated destination within the building.

Spaces designed for both focus and gathering.

At the center of the suite, an open lounge anchors the program and acts as the primary social hub. A hospitality-style coffee and refreshment bar reinforces the residential character of the environment, providing a natural point for daily interaction and informal meetings.

Artwork from Park Tower Group’s private collection is integrated throughout the space, with architectural detailing carefully designed to frame and highlight each piece. This integration of art and architecture further reinforces the curated, club-like atmosphere.

Surrounding the central lounge, a series of complementary spaces support a wide range of tenant needs. A 28-seat boardroom accommodates formal meetings and catered events, supported by a concealed pantry with warming drawers. Nearby, a library-inspired retreat provides a quieter zone for focused work, featuring banquettes, warm wood paneling, and curved architectural niches that create moments of intimacy within the larger suite.

Together, these environments allow the amenity floor to seamlessly shift between individual work, collaborative gatherings, and larger social events.
